We spent time reviewing what feels important to Kit in terms of aspiration, finance and life-balance. We discussed the option of applying for a School Leaver Programme or a Higher Apprenticeship. These are relatively new opportunities and are being expanded rapidly by many top employers. They offer a salaried job with qualifications and training and are a fantastic ‘foot in the door’ and an opportunity to fast track a career. Many include a degree which is funded by the employer.
Together we worked on Kit’s Personal Statement and he secured all 5 university offers to study Economics. He also made an application to Lloyds of London but during this process Kit realised how much he wanted the full ‘uni experience’ and, having weighed up his choices, happily accepted a university place.
